Lorry driver and cyclist in viral video convicted today

Almost a year ago, ROADS.sg posted the viral video of the lorry and motorcyclist road raging at each other in Pasir Ris – today the sentence is out. Teo Seng Tiong, 58, was convicted on today (Dec 17) of causing hurt to the cyclist by performing a rash act.

In case you need a recap of the incident, here is the video again.

District Judge Chay Yuen Fatt found that the lorry driver had “deliberately swerved” his lorry into the cyclist, Mr Eric Cheung Hoyu, on Dec 22 last year.

The British national, Mr Cheung , 35, testified that Teo had hurled vulgarities at him with a tone of voice that was”aggressive” and filled with “lots of anger” before drove off without leaving his contact particulars.

Mr Cheung was fined $2,800 in April after pleading guilty to committing mischief and causing an obstruction with his bicycle in the middle of the lane.

During the trial, Teo testified that he swerved left in Mr Cheung’s direction because he heard a taxi honked at him and the sound of “something breaking”.

Teo will be sentenced Jan 14 next year.

ROADS.sg would like to remind road users that offenders convicted of causing hurt by performing a rash act can be jailed for up to a year and fined up to $5,000. We also remind our audience that doxxing is illegal and such actions are not condoned by our team, and all iterations of personal identities being posted will be clamped down on on our pages.
