SBS housing their M’sian bus captains in hotel during lockdown

Recently, Malaysia announced they were going into lockdown for 2 weeks from 18 – 31 Mar. This announcement was shocking to the many who commute to and fro the border between the two nations. Many of the 300,000 Malaysian workers as well as employers who hire these workers have expressed their concern.

In view of the latest announcement by the Malaysian Authorities, SBS has secured temporary accommodation at several hotels for their Malaysian Bus Captains (BCs). This will take effect immediately to ensure that scheduled bus services are not affected.

Contrary to an online report, their BCs will not be made to sleep on recliner chairs in bus depots.

SBS says they will continue to work with the Singapore Authorities and monitor the situation as it unfolds.
